Need Suggestions for Routing AFR Meter (LM2)
In the past I have always used the LM2 exhaust clamp to measure AFRs. I really hate using the clamp b/c it will fall off - plus I don't like the cords running over the engine lid and up through my window to the inside of my car. When adjustments are needed I have to remove the clamp in order to open up the engine lid.
I'd like to use my 02 sensor bung instead. Ideally I would like to run it from the bung, into the engine bay (via the current hole that leads to the 02 sensor plug) and then through the firewall to the front of the car where the LM2 unit plugs into the lighter. Is this a bad idea? Or is there a better way to route the lines? |
I have an AEM wideband UEGO with wire routing similar to the manner you describe. Works fine for me.

The sensor will overheat and burn out if it's screwed directly into the bung. Make sure you get their heat sink before you locate it in the O2 bung. Mine eventually burned out even with the heat sink, so I went back to the clamp. That puts it far enough downstream to where it won't overheat.

Take it through the trans tunnel. Via the shift rod rubber seal.
