Dallas-Area Alternator Rebuilder?

I've taken my alternator for my 74' 911 to 2 different places with no luck. I don't know if they are just afraid of it or what, but both haven't be able to repair it. One place tried and charged me for "fixing" it but I can't tell they did anything besides cleaning it.

It's not charging and needs new bearings for sure.

Does anyone know of a Dallas, TX area alternator shop that they have had good luck with? Or does anyone know of a place that sells a rebuild unit for a 74 or parts so I can do it?

Any and all help is very appreciated. I can't wait to get my car back on the road!

Thanks again!

Oklahoma foreign in Moore, Oklahoma can probly hook you up with a used alternator. I would search Ebay though. You might find a deal.

"Houston Alternator" reconditioned my '76 alternator (diodes, bearings) for $150. Took a couple days.
I hope you'll find something right in the middle of Houston and Oklahoma !

there is a good one in Fort Worth. I have used them several times. Last time I walked in with a starter the guy said "Porsche". It really took me by surprise.

Thanks for the help. I called the place in Lewisville. They are the most convenient to me.

The guy I talked to seemed to know what he was talking about. I'm dropping it off there next week.
