T MFI on E engine ok?
Does anybody know of any problems having a T MFI on a 2.4E?
Any links available to explain the exact difference between a 2.4T and 2.4E? THANKS from Prague, Ed |
The E´s had 165 bhp whereas the European T´s had 130 and the US 140 bhp

The intake port size on the cylinder heads of the 2.4 are the same on the T & E which is 32mm. So the throttle bodies will bolt up and match the heads. The cams are different and the compression ratio is 7.5 for the T and 8.0 for the E. The MFI pumps differ in the space cam type and flow rates. The T (015) MFI pump should work fine on your E with minor adjustments if this is your plan?

I believe the "T" throttle body bore diameter is 28mm as the "E"s are 32mm.

My mistake TB size. I was thinking head ports only. So to make it clear, the T plastic stacks are 35mm at the top opening and 32mm at the bottom flange. The T throttle bodies are 38mm at the top and 29mm at the head flange. The E plastic stacks are 38mm at the top opening and 35mm at the bottom flange. The E throttle bodies are 38mm at the top and 32mm at the head flange. I had to go through my stash of parts to measure them.

No the T MFI is fitted already on the E engine but have some trouble with the engine so was thing what might cause it.
2 of the cylinders are not working despite good spark. Next is checking compression (and am worried about that). Ed |
Your on the right track Ed.
