Try some NGKs ... for hot weather -- B-8ES, for cold weather -- BP-7ES.
Gaps from 0.028" to 0.032" work well. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa [This message has been edited by Early_S_Man (edited 06-16-2001).] |

I remember reading in "Up-Fixin" an article someone wrote recommending a colder plug when running track events, the use of which will result in lower engine oil temps. I'm not to sure about this, anyone have any knowledge/experience with this?

I've found the Bosch Platinum Plus a very good performer, they last a long time and are pre-gapped.

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/partnumberkey.pdf The "S" in BP7ES means "standard 2.5mm electrode". The "XV" in B7EVX means "high performance platnum" In both cases, the "E" is the length of the threads. The other difference appears to be the "P" which is shown as "projected insulator type", whatever that means. For what it's worth, the NGK page lists for my 82 SC, BP7ES for standard plugs and BP7EVX for platnum plugs. Check out: http://www.ngksparkplugs.com lots of good info. Tom |
