Question about Flywheel

Cleaning the flywheel of my 2.4T, I found a few micro cracks. Is this an issue? Any recommendations? I also noticed that the flywheel has been very hot. Is this normal?

Thanks!
Ed

It's not unusual to find micro cracks on the "surface" of a 911 flywheel.

If you're intend on racing your car I would replace it.

If it's for road use only with the occasional blast when the cops aren't looking then it should be OK.

Can you post a macro picture of the cracks?

also check to be sure it is within specs.

you may want to just replace - they are not super spendy and the damage if one lets go is very bad
