Porsche Family Tree Commerical

Does anyone know anything about the family tree commerical? I was wondering all the cars are computer generated or is it a mixe of real and CG cars. It is a great commerical

It is cool - I forget if we saw it during the MLB playoffs or when. My wife caught it first and I was glad 'cause I/(we) just made the purchase last year - heh heh.
Back to your question, I never thought of the CGI aspect - maybe because I'm old fashioned or slightly gullible. If they were simulated, wouldn't it take away from the message?

I just wonder if they are CG since the cars are in the desert or dry lake bed. There are some one of a kind of cars in the pictures. I think the GT1 race car wouldn't like the environment well

IFC (Independent Film Channel) has been running a show recently called "Welcome to the Family". It's a half hour piece on Porsche enthusiasts showing some stuff from the Colorado Parade as well as some behind the scenes of the making of a Panamera commercial - all real cars. Pretty cool, Jerry Seinfeld is talking about his love of the cars and is shown at the commercial shoot.

saw the commercial this morning and was sure they must be cg. very cool! (except the panamera of course).

kinda thought the theme song should be: 'one of these things is not like the others.....'

I watched it in slow motion high def and it looks like there is some CG involved. The sand/dirt flying up on the sides of the cars looks animated in slomo and just kinda disappears. Also the shadows of the cars and tire tracks have a distorted blurry look. I really dont care because all those incredible cars are awesome.

Zwart shot this on the de-commissioned runways of El Toro Marine Station and then they were CGI'd onto a dry lake bed. Those are all real cars shot on film.

The cars are real, many were lent to the cause by Jerry Seinfeld.
