RSR finish
A question for anyone who has RSR finish wheels, particularly those done by Mr. Weidman: are these easy to keep clean, or are they a real pain, especially with brake dust and the like.
|
NO, not easy to keep clean. You have to vaseline the hell out of them to keep the brake dust suspended so you can was them clean or they stain.

I asked Mr. Weidman this exact question last month at German AutoFest. He thinks they're pretty easy to clean. Whatever detergent/soap you're using for the rest of the car can be used on the wheels; if it's gentle enough for the paint, it's OK for the wheels. Just make sure they're not hot when you wet them down. I didn't ask him about vaseline/brake dust, though. I live in a dry area, though, so I'm not regularly getting brake dust-encrusted wheels wet very often.

I bead blasted and anodised mine myself and use DS3000 pads so brake dust is a problem until I covered them with a good quality wax ,the brake dust just wipes off now
