77 Muffler on a 69 car?

Hi, can anyone tell me will the 77 2 in 1 out muffler fit the earlier cars, specifically a 69?

Thanks in advance

Adam

Hi Adam,

First, a '77 came with a single-inlet muffler; the last 911 with a dual-inlet version was a '74.

Lastly, the '74-'89 cars had their tailpipe positioned lower (for bumper clearance) than the '73 and older cars so its not a bolt-on unless you fabricate a new tailpipe.

Could be a Leistritz with who knows what date on it. my 2/1 (now 2/3) has a date later than 74 and fits my SSI's on my '70 just fine.

point is you kinda need to know more if you're buying a muffler.

I believe we all make mistakes but I will not validate your poor choices and/or perversions and subsidize the results your actions.

I think that can apply to more than just mufflers,...

I put it to the guy and he said he just bought a 77 911 and it came with that, so I think I'll pass. All a bit vague really

Actually, here's a photo of it.

Any ideas?

It looks like a Leistritz,...

There should be part numbers stamped on the bottom to permit a positive ID, but if it was installed on a '77, its not a bolt-on for a long-hood car.
