Down on power after adjustments
After recently changing plugs, disty cap and doing a valve adjustment, My car doesn't have the "seat of the pants" power that it did before. It's really noticable at full throttle in second and third gears. The car is a '70 911E w/webers and a Pertronix lighter. Any ideas?
Thanks, Mark ------------------ Mark B. Wilson 1970 911E mbwilson@home.com http://www.marksobsessions.20m.com/ |

My guess would be you either retarded the timing or messed up on the valve adjustment.

Mark,
Have you checked the ignition advance at idle and at 6000 rpm to see if within spec? ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Haven't yet. Just got a timing light and will look at it this aft. I did go back and recheck the intake valves. there was one that was too tight.
Thanks guys, Mark |
