Point wear
I have been having trouble with point wear in my 1971 2.2 E. The points themselves hardly wear at all, but the little distributor cam follower doesn't last long at all. I've lubed the disty shaft, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. The Pertronix system listed on Pelican states it is for 1972 onward. Anyone used or installed one of these in a 71? Would this eliminate the problem?
