Proper jack placement in trunk
Does anyone have a photo of the correct placement of the jack in the trunk of a longhood?
Thanks in advance, Rob |
I've seen pics on the Early 911S bbs. BUT, what you should do - to be proper - is to keep the Bilstein jack in the garage and carry a 944 type scissors jack in the car.
Whatever is in the car is likely to be used, and the elevating post screw jack is dangerous. |
I've been thinking of finding a scissors jack for my SC, because of all the stories of screw-jack failures. Can I use any scissor jack, like an extra one from one of my Subarus? Or i saw one at harbor Freight for cheap, too. Any info about the 944 jack? Should i get one of those?

yes - just make sure you have a way to mate the top to the car's jack points
the 944 is made of Al (steel screw) & is 'Porsche' |
We need a scissor jack with a pokey thing that goes into the jack point on the 911.
