Wanted: pics of non-stock headliners
Hi All
I am slowly redoing my interior. Started with the seats, now its headliner time. After the sunroof motor access zipper blew out, it was hanging down and annoying me so I tore it all out. I have read numerous posts about installing a new factory liner, and have determined that I do not have the patience to do it without the glass out. No chance of that in the near future, so I have decided to go my own route. It is a sunroof car, and I was thinking of making my own liner in parts that would somehow snap or glue in, without actually slipping under the seals as it does now. One part for the sun roof, one part for the box it slides back into, and one surrounding part. Sounds odd, but it looks good in my head! Will it look good in the car? This might be a temporary solution until I have a project that requires the glass out, or if it looks good, then the final deal. Anyone make something like this, or know of anyone who has? I have searched this site extensively, and have not seen anything other than painted ceilings in race cars and new stock liners. I would go bare metal, except as it is now it is a pale version of the exterior color, so not all that attractive. Also, I was thinking if I could add light insulation it might make the car quieter and warmer. any pictures or suggestions are most appreciated! Thanks tom
