Tiny Mini-project: tidying up chromed hub center cap
Hi yall,
I lost the top of a center cap last year, and finally got my hands on a replacement cap. It's a bit rough, with the chrome peeling as you can see. Can I just go to the hobby store and buy some chome paint, tape the thing off and touch it up? Or what would you recommend? The crest was hand-painted by the friend who passed this along to me, so I don't want to just strip and recoat the whole top. Thoughts on this mission-critical project, my friends???? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2499/...27044a54a4.jpg x0x0x VroomGrrl! |
Looks like the inner chrome is good, how about just sanding the outer ring and painting the outer edge a GP white to match your car.

Why not buy these painted chromed caps from me for 75 plus shipping? Save yourself a lot of trouble and aggravation.
