Tiny Mini-project: tidying up chromed hub center cap

Hi yall,

I lost the top of a center cap last year, and finally got my hands on a replacement cap. It's a bit rough, with the chrome peeling as you can see. Can I just go to the hobby store and buy some chome paint, tape the thing off and touch it up? Or what would you recommend? The crest was hand-painted by the friend who passed this along to me, so I don't want to just strip and recoat the whole top. Thoughts on this mission-critical project, my friends????

Looks like the inner chrome is good, how about just sanding the outer ring and painting the outer edge a GP white to match your car.

Why not buy these painted chromed caps from me for 75 plus shipping? Save yourself a lot of trouble and aggravation.

Well now that would involve removing the rest of the caps and doing them the same way. Not gonna happen! I may just tape off thatouter rim using the line as a border and try to tidy that part up, sand off the old and repaint? I may just slap the sucker on there - will look better than the "missing tooth" look I'm sporting now.

Those are lovely, no doubt. Thanks for letting me know about them. But a) I only need the one, and b) I'd like to have it fixed up by Sunday.
