Surging/Hesitation Question

Hello. My car has developed a surge/hesitation when accelerating. I did some searching here and found a post regarding cleaning the AFM to solve this problem. I contacted a couple of local shops and was told not to open the AFM at all, only to clean the plugs with electrical contact cleaner. Does this sound right? Also the car does this around 3-4k rpms and pretty consistantly when cold. It also seems to be worse if I'm on an incline. Just wondering if anyone had any other advice other than the AFM. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, crank sensor as well as the other sensor that it next to it.

Thanks,

Chris

I was just wondering as well, if it's a vaccum leak that's causing the problems wold it be consistent meaning always happening regardless of wether or not the car is warmed up or not.

Thanks,

Chris
