1987 gear oil change Redline!

Newbie here. I changed gear oil last week on my 87, I am quite certain that it had never been changed previously, 28k on the car. The caps were a nice battle that finally gave into a large cheater bar, heat, and oil.

I went with Redline 75-90ns which is what they recommend for p cars. I have always had great results with redline in spec Miatas and found the same to be true in p cars. It shifts much, much, easier and smoother when cold and cut trans noise to nothing! I am sure what was in before was factory fill, and does not compare to modern synthetics.

I've used Redline in my 87 with mixed results. It seems to work great at the beginning say for 10K miles, then drops off (more noise, hard cold shifts).

I've since switched to the 'hard to find' Mobile Delvac 75W-90, this fluild seems to work better in IMHO.

that's what i am using and so far so good but it has been less than 100 miles since the change. my 2nd syncro is worn and it would take a good effort to get into 2nd gear, about 5-6/10 times but since the change it is 1-2/10. it's quite easy to find here, i just went to autozone and picked up 3 bottles.
