What is the longest trip you have taken this year in your Porsche?

Just wondering how many of us take our Porsches on long trips during the year.

What is the longest single trip you have taken or plan to take by the end of 2009? If you made a round trip,
include all of the miles.

My wife and I took this epic journey:

from:White Rock, BC to:kamloops, bc to:jasper, ab to:banff, ab to:radium hot springs, bc to:49.671183,-115.966187 to:HWY 3/HWY 3B to:crawford bay, bc to:nakusp, bc to:summerland, bc to:HWY 3/HWY 3B to:White Rock, BC - Google Maps

The Rockies provided some spectacular hiking & scenery. The return loop through the Kootnays has some of the most fantastic driving roads in the province - miles and miles of well-engineered twisted asphalt, with no other drivers.

Cool route! Wow ... just wow.

My long trips usually involve a lot of boring, flat highway driving. I hope to change that next year and make more of an effort to get up into the mountains (which are probably more like "hills" in your area).

In May, I drove from SF Bay area to Louisville KY, then north to Canadian border, then back to SF. Nearly 6,300 miles, almost no Interstates, 27+ mpg, no problems except for the deer I hit at 65mph in Kansas.

That is a great drive - have done it several times! I also really like the 'old' Pemberton highway from Whistler which my girl and I did in October - lots of twisties and great scenery the ENTIRE way!

I drove approx 900 mi back home after flying in to NJ from MO to pick up a street/track 930 this past spring. This was long since this is my 1st Porsche I ever owned and my mind was busy trying to get the feel for this car. Loved it.

2300 miles in the 911SC from LAX to Columbus, OH. Nothing like a fast drive across the country in a car you bought sight unseen. Fun!

Also, did 1000 miles in the 914 in 2 days.

And 1100 miles from Columbus to Jersey and back in a 944.

And over 4000 from Ohio to Montana & back in a Mazda. I would have taken a Porsche, but I needed room to roll out a sleeping bag.

Summer trip.......

3,921 miles in my newly restored 1960 356 Sunroof Coupe.

Sacramento, CA to Whistler, Canada,

Whistler, Canada to Lake Louise, Canada

Lake Louise to Yellowstone

Yellowstone via Cody, WY to Sacramento.

Lots of side trips and mountain passes as high as 9,000 feet.

No issues other than it ran a little fat at altitude and the hand throttle cable came loose at the gas pedal.

See the avatar at the Continental Divide in Yellowstone..........

That's quite a trek. Well, they like being driven.

After that, I feel a bit inadequate just logging about 2300 miles over about five days.

This year was pretty easy on the 911's odometer. Just to the autocross track and back a few times.

Every time I drive the Hooligan, I think I should drive it more often. Then it gets tucked under a cover in the back corner of the garage.
