engagement with concentrated Techron...
Just to pass on a story....
I added a 12 gallon treatment of Techron to the tank,..which had (~) 3 gallons in it (MAX)...I ran the dog out of it for about 15 minutes interstate level (yes, with the high levels of Techron) ....then pulled in for an additional 6 gallons of 93 octane (she sees this octane every day...). Proceeded to log another visceral 38 miles then she parks for the night...I know I'm still under the the treatment ratio.... The next A.M., we head off early, and not only 1/2 mile down the road, she bogs completely in 3rd gear,..liking only to attain idle,.........any request from the gas pedal was met with instantaneous bog down (throttle sags,..engine wants to die). I pull over,..look into the rear,..play with the throttle ass'y and eventually get an instantaneously response...head up the road,..about 1 1/2 miles, she does the same thing again.....I repeat my process,..now wandering if the Techron mixture "did something overnite",..and having withdrawals to get to a station to top this tank off.....I drive home....ponder the situation and decide to go for it,..hit the station,..topped her off.....and went for a 40 mile run...unninterrupted. As soon as I got home,..changed the fuel filer out,...took her out for another 50 miles of revving backroads....like a new frikin car (butt-seat-dyno). I believe my injectors are happier these days.. Point is,..make use of the "cleaners" on the fuel-side, no? Techron seems to work for me. Maybe some of you can share your expertise, experiences and treatment cycles. My best, Doyle

I use SeaFoam in my fuel and have no problems whatsoever. I use it all of our vehicles.
Very strange result of a fuel additive. The only idea I have is that it freed up some junk which got into the injectors(some or all).

actually, she ran "perfectly" (not perfevtly,...WTF?)
I know,..it make me wonder if it was the ratio that caused the "bug".....or,..is it that "coincidental" thing, having more to do with sensors, etc.? You gotta' love these mysteries........bug up a butt makes me nervous.....luckily, I was only a few miles from home. Time will tell,....... Best,

LOL........I do that all the time to provide a "snapshot" of whats in the tank and what kind of condition its in,....
![]() IMHO, its good practice providing one uses a proper filter cutter instead of a saw.

Sounds like the Techron is cleaning your system and the bogging is some bad stuff passing thru the system.

You may have also picked up some garbage from the bottom of the fuel tank with less than 3 gallons left.
I think it's been posted before to not let our tanks run below 1/4 tank.

given that the fuel pump pickup is in a fixed location in the tank, in a moving vehicle with a contantly sloshing gas tank, why does it matter how many gallons are in the tank, as far as "picking up garbage" from the bottom of the tank?

Second that--I've driven mine until the low fuel light came on (I didn't know it worked) with no harm done. David
