Hankook RS3 sizes for 16 inch wheels?

Has anyone read\heard if Hankook is going to make a 245/45R16 in their new RS-3 model. It appears they are discontinuing the RS-2 line which had the 245/45R16 size. I really enjoy driving on these tires... I'll be a bit bummed if they don't carry that size over. Oh well...

Has anyone seen any 245/45/16 tires for that matter? I was on tire rack the other day and there was nothing in that size that had a matching 205/55/16. Btw...I have the rs-2's as well and would like to continue using them.

Why are you looking at 205/55/16? I think the proper size is 205/50/16. Why don't you also look at 225/50/16. Sizes are definitely limited in 16".

For street, you can get a continental contisport, toyo t1r and BFG G-force. Not much else unless you go to an r-compound (888s or hoosiers.)

No. 55's are the right profile with 205's. I'm afraid to put 225's on the front without having the front fenders rolled. My ride height is a bit low.

Well, bad news, I just received info that Hankook will not be releasing the RS-3 in 245/45R16. That's a real bummer. Time for another brand or go to 17" wheels...

Let us know what you find in 245/45/16. I was talking to a mechanic about this today and he confirmed there is not much out there anymore in this size.

TOYO makes the Proxes T1R in 245/45/16 with a matching 225/50/16 front tire ... I installed these on my 89 Coupe this summer and have a little over 7000 kms so far and i'm extremely pleased with the wear and smoothness of these tires as compared to the Michelins i had on previously !

Seems like the lttle cracks in the road magically went away ,,,
You won't find these on Tire Rack,by the way !!!

Thanks Phil. I'm going to give these a shot.

BTW, what type/size wheel are you running up front on those 225/50/16?

I picked up a clean set of 951 offset 8 inch Fuchs for the front and bought some 9 inch replicas for the rear... You can also use the stock Fuchs seven inch wheels for the front as well .No clearance issues whatsoever in the rear, although you have to be careful with the fronts,i just slightly rolled the fender lips so i wouldn't catch an edge !

It all depends on how low you want your car...

Although my car will be going into hibernation this week, I thought I better shop around and see what is still available in 16". I just bought a set of Fuzion ZRi 245/45/16 and 205/55/16. There were 4 available of the 245's here in Canada. Probably not my first choice but better than possibly nothing in the Spring.

I too was planning on some RS-2s. I expressed my need for 245/45/16s with Hankook here;

Welcome to Hankook Tire

Maybe we can convince them to offer a 245.
If someone finds a sticky 245/45/16 street/DE tire let us know!

We are going to have to bug them to make 205/55/R16s too. Not looking too good. I'm going to check out the Toyo Proxies T1Rs....
