911 Rear Window Defroster Grid Wiring Tip

Thought I'd post a picture to help future generations with the hidden wiring of the 911SC rear window defrost grid, and the small 1/8" spade lugs that run down each side of the window glass, which is powered by the hidden wiring underneath the inner layer of rear window surround gasket/seal.

The 911SC (my 1982 anyways) has a dual powered grid, 3 spade lugs each side, I believe the bottom spade lug is the ground and the middle and top are both the power leads for the dual stage heating mid and top window.

Picture may help with those of you trying to troubleshoot the rear defrost grid, and or to tell your glass installers to WATCH OUT while slicing the rubber window seal, but not the wiring that lead up from the bottom of the window glass both sides, the wire loom runs back to the fuse block/panel in the engine compartment where the relay is at, and over to the passenger side along the bottom of the window glass.

Thought I'd add, that this 1982 911SC rear window with fully operational grid (glass tinted) along with the other 4 side glass pieces (doors and rear qtr's, also tinted) are for sale if anyone wants a complete glass kit minus windshield.

pm me if interested.

Here's the Glass on the "dead red car" before it died, it's now been parted out after being totalled by a little old lady going the wrong was on a one way street.
