Small line on charcoal canister

I'm trying to figure out what needs to be removed for my carb install.
I was looking at the engine today and mentally routing lines and things.

I was looking at the hose that goes from the oil filler neck and other hoses on the shroud.I guess the oil filler neck one is going to split into the carbs when they come. I think that is part of the installation kit.

I was looking at the hoses off the shroud and CIS system that go the charcoal canister. The ones from the shroud and CIS are hooked up tight to the canister. The small hose that comes from the gas filler neck is not hooked up and hasn't been for some time.
I removed the cut or broken end, still attached, with a mirror and a twist. I cut flush the old end but it is too brittle to go back on the nipple.
How far does this hose go if I need to replace it. I followed it around from the canister, behind the engine and then it disappears into the tunnel or somewhere.

It is probably a good idea to keep the canister but it is not hooked up anyways.
Should I remove it or should I replace the fuel evaporator line instead.
Will this line hook up to the new carbs too, and I can ditch the canister and hoses.?

I could go either way. I don't really smell that much fuel odor even though the fuel line has not been hooked up.
It looks like I have just been venting into the engine bay and not the canister.
The only thing the canister has been venting is the oil filler hose.

There are quite a few posts on this if you want to search. You do want to keep this hooked up. Here are a few pics of the system.

I just removed the entire canister about an hour ago. The line from the CIS box and the shroud are gone too.

Looks like I have a little metal tube that vents my gas filler neck into a hose that goes into the front wheel well. From there it hooks up to the body and goes through the fender into the front trunk.
From there it goes into a clear tube and down behind the fuse panel to another outlet that vents in front of the front tire in the same wheel well.

You see that little plug at the top of the yellow spots on your wheel well. That is about where mine pops out and vents to.

The hose that hooks to my filler neck breather wasn't even hooked up.
I don't think I ever had a connection to the rear hose.

I had to have a new front end put on about a decade ago after a crash and I think that is when it was modified.

it is best to keep all the emissions components when using carbs

search on emissions and vapor for more info

every fill up will splash gas all over creation w/o the under fender tank

My under fender tank is missing RWebb. Has been since I don't when.
I have no idea where it is, if I ever had one.
I am sure some body shop tossed it at some point.
I don't like the venting into the engine bay, but it seems venting into the front fender seems safe.

It seems to work OK so far.

mine splashes all over as it gets near full - have stopped filling the tank until I can put in a new vapor tank

the auto-click off function on the gas pump nozzle no longer works

+ you will be polluting the air (including the air in your garage) even when the car is sitting still

just post Wanted in the Parts forum for a used one
