Trouble Shooting Fuel Pump

My car died.
Last Sunday I was cleaning out the garage so I backed the cars outside. When I was done I tried to start the '79 SC and got nothing. Engine turns over but no sign of starting, First thing I did was check the fuse and relay for the fuel pump. The relay clicks. I then took off the breather and lifted the air plate. Nothing.
I turned the engine over with a timing light attached and it is showing I have spark from the MSD.
I don't think the fuel pump is doing anything. Is raising and climbing underneath the best way to confirm the fuel pump is dead?
Any other suggestions are welcomed.
As far as I know the fuel pump is original BTW...

Thanks,
