Here's a pic from my first engine pull. I had not even discovered Pelican yet. For shame, I know.
As you can see I DID put my jack stands under the torsion bar end covers. I thought I used the torque tube but I guess not. I had remove my engine blower and anything else I could on the top of the motor. I was able to pull the engine without removing the valance. On my second removal I took the valance off and it was just much easier. I still needed height but the finagling to get it out from under the car was minimized. Same thing for installation.
