Can this chin spoiler be repaired? *Pic*

My chin spoiler has a bite taken out and was wondering if this is something that can be repaired? Is there a way to re-mold or re-form the missing section? Thanks.

I had a chin spoiler that looked like that. I simply cut the bottom 1/2 inch off the entire spoiler to get rid of the damage. Not the right way, but an easy and cheap way and nobody was the wiser.

i bet even if you just cut up as you rounded the bend at each end you would hardly notice

"I simply cut the bottom 1/2 inch off the entire spoiler to get rid of the damage."

Would that not affect the aerodynamics and increase the front end lift and affect your gas consumption and possibly oil consumption?

Technically yes, but how fast are you driving and how sensitive are you to fuel consumption, and aerodynamic lift? I've driven my 911 with and without the chin spoiler and the difference can only be felt at high speed. I assume shortening the chin spoiler lies somewhere in between.

I don't proclaim to be an expert but I doubt anyone but the Stig could tell the difference in performance.

My comment was "off the chin"

Consider tracing an arc similar to this (_____) , but reverse the solid line the top, around the injured area and then cut out the arc with a sharp blade. Then create a similar arc exactly in the same place on the opposite side of the spoiler so you have (_____)________________(______) a custom spoiler with air channels. When you have lemons, make lemonade.

I would search for a similar textured piece of rubber and CA glue it in place. Cut out the damaged area so you have a clean line to go against

You can try purchasing weather stripping for your garage and wrap the bottom with it. Won't be original, but it will look decent.

doable

Yes it's possible. Same thing happened to my cousin's chin on his 87. What we did was we used rubber sealant (black one) used for windshield and wrapped or pressed it to flatten on both front and rear. When it hardened we sanded to smooth out surface and painted the area. Not concourse but got it done

No problem, I think I am going to try this fix on my spoiler too.

You could also look into a product like Versimold. I have almost a brand new package cheap if you want to give it a try. Its like $20 new, but you could undoubtedly find other uses for it. PM me if interested. You can find videos online for various applications.

I repaired my spoiler with weatherstrip adhesive. I put duck tape on the back side, filled in with weatherstrip adhesive (black) let dry.... THEN, I used Plasti-Dip spray over the area...exact match !!
