Can anyone comment on difference in power benefits between just swapping to a sport muffler or using a sport muffler + SSI's? Is the seat of the pants feel significantly different?
(Kurt B- didn't you just go with a muffler swap on your car and say the difference was significant?) ------------------ Adam Nitti ajnitti@mindspring.com www.adamnitti.com '85 911 Carrera Coupe PCA member, Peachstate region |

It's hard to say...you know the sound is so aggressive, maybe it's the placebo effect. I will say, I had around 6.32 best 0-60. I had some work done on the car; bad injectors. Before I put in the chip, I just put on the bursch muffler and my results were a best of 6.18. I haven't tested since I put in the chip, and the short shifter....I think they all add up. I would expect there to be some difference with the sport muffler alone...now that I've passed emissions which required a new airbox as mine was toast, the car is driving even better and faster. I am sure I can crack 6, but if so, I'd have to attribute it to the short shifter, chip, and new airbox.
Incidentally, I'm going with SSI pretty soon; some kind of dual exhaust setup I think. ------------------ Kurt B '84 Carrera Cab. carrera_cabriolet@yahoo.com |
