tach redline
Hopefully this is easy question, searched but couldn't get definitive answer.
Where was the actual redline mark on a US '74 Carrera tachometer - note that I'm not asking the rev limit of that or any engine that's in my car...I know that very well - but what was physically on the tach that came from the factory? Picture would be great! Thanks, Don

Interesting - I was expecting either 7200 or 7300.... I wonder why it retained the standard tach?
Is my understanding wrong? didn't the '74 Carrera have the "S" engine? Didn't these have either a 7200 or 7300 limit?

The US spec Carrera had the same engine as the 911S of the same year. This is a CIS engine with a low rev limit. The 7200 RPM limit is for the earlier cars and the Euro 2.7 Carrera engine with MFI.
