Input shaft seal replacement
1976 915 trans. I think its a mag trans, but reguardless, I got the two screws out, but can barely get the piece out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to get it all back in tomorrow, and this is the only thing holding me back

I think I gave up with the 'pick' idea and drove a sheet metal screw into the seal, then pulled the screw with vice-grips.

Even worse. I took the 2 screws out of the houseing that needs to be removed and cant get that to move at all. I can get it to spin left and right, but not wiggle out. Its thin and im sure brittle. I dont want to break an ear off. If you need photo, since I do not know what the piece is called, i can take oneSmileWavy

The manual shows it beiing removed by slide hammer hooking into the 2 holes in the guide tube. I believe the seal sits in the guide tube, not installed in the case. I m on memory for that statement.

I got it. tapping it back and forth, and a pry bar pushed it enough to get a flat blade screw driver in between the trans and the housing to pop it out
