Heat exchanger interchangability?

Quick question. Will a 3.2 stock heat exchanger setup fit a 3.0 SC engine?
Thanks.

Aloha, Rob

nope. you gotta mod the HE's. the lip or insert that protrudes into the head on the 3.2 HE's is too big to fit into the 3.0 heads.

Ok so aside from cutting off that lip the exchangers will line up and bolt to the heads?
Have you done this before?
Just looking for a quick fix for a friend.
Thanks.

I've SSI's from a 911 SC on my 3.2, so yes the distance between the cylinders are the same.
But the flanges on the 3.2 heatexchangers are thicker and the bolts on you friends SC is not long enough.

Ok thanks for the replys. I think we can make this work.

You can make it work but you will need the longer exhaust studs and cut the flanges of the HEs.

yeah itll work. you may already have the long studs, i did. to get it to seal up well i filed the gasket mating surfaces flat.

How about stock 3.6 exchangers on to a 3.2?
