Registration and Logging in Problems
 

Is it just me or has anyone else had problems getting signed up with this new format?

I think I must have registered about a half dozen times before it finally worked so I could get in. Is that par or what?

Try hitting refresh on your tool bar....it then puts your screen name at the top as well...

Has anyone else's speed slowed down with the new BBS? Mine is off min. 50%. Maybe Wayne is just fiddling while I'm on?:confused:

I have noticed a slowdown as well.
I have access to ADSL as well as cable, so it's not a problem with the piping at this end.

The old pages were static HTML, which doesn't require a call to the server. These pages are generated dynamically, which means the server has to process the pages before they are dished out.

The old system was good in that respect, but it wouldn't support the features that this system has, and it also didn't support a SQL backend, which means that at about 40,000 posts, I would have to delete some to make room.

It's a tradeoff, but one I think that was important to make. I'm going to request that they create static HTML pages as an option in the next release...
