Porsche Wins Thunderhill 25 Hours
Congrats to Mercer Motorsports and Jerry Woods Enterprises, with support from Flying Lizards Motorsport, on their dominant win in this weekend's Thunderhill 25 hour race running a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup. Co-drivers were JWE principal Rich Walton (a former 25 winner), 2008 Porsche Cup winner Johannes Van Overbeek, 2009 Grand-Am DP champ Jon Fogarty, Lizards crew chief Tommy Sadler, and Porsche club racing stalwart Todd Grantham. Race strategy was called by Lizards' Thomas Blam. The winning margin was 22 laps over the similar car of Pierre Ehret, co-driven by factory shoe Wolf Henzler among others. Third place was a Caterham Super 7, 63 laps down.

Did you go to this event? I was part of the pit crew for BiggsB and it was a long cold event. Great experience though and those cup cars were amazing to watch around the track.

I was following the race via cell phone and internet. Couldn't make the show (I'd just be in the way and December in Willows is too darned cold). I'm sure that he'll be interested -- he seems to really like the air-cooled cars. Yours is one of my faves -- 911R in the making with a sting...

I wanted to go in the worst way...Thunderhill's only 45 minutes from here. I even tried to convince my wife she could likely get up close to the "McDreamy" guy as he was slated to drive, but to no avail...too much to do around the house.
