DIY yourself SWB - sway-a-way spring plates
inspired by this thread-
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/372086-swb-adjustable-spring-plates.html I wanted adjustable spring plates on my SWB. I'd heard of problems with the SAW ones so I figured, build my own. I cheated and used a LWB pair of SAW plates I had. I cut off the stub of the SWB plate to allow for accurate measuring and got the distance from the center of the torsion bar hole to the edge of the first mounting hole. then I cut the SWB plate in half to get a template. clamped the template to the SAW plate at the correct location and scribed the outline. drilled the holes and used a die grinder on the oval holes, and a bandsaw on the outline. I need to weld up the same spot as the above thread, a little final contouring, and they're off the the powder coaters. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261126459.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261126498.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261126521.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261126546.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261126577.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261126602.jpg |
