Cool Show me your SILVER 911's early style

I am really debating a silver repaint on my Black 911SC. I am going to keep this car forever, and thought maybe a refreshing Platinum color would do her some justice. Taking care of a few body work issues along the way. would like to see how nice they look Plat or Silver or Gray

Same car, but in it's more natural state:

I went with silver because that was the original color. To do over, I'm going to go with something more eye-popping, like Signal Orange, or Viper Green.

No sense staying original now that the car already has a 3.2.

This one is a favorite of mine from this board (can't recall the owner's name at the moment), very similar in spirit to a 911 featured in the Sept. 2001 Excellence.

Here's mine, also #936 VW Silver Metallic

It is very difficult to reproduce in photos, but here are a couple of my better shots.

Are you nuts???? Your car is beautiful. Get a set of Alton Fuchs with the money you'd spend on a repaint and still have 4-5k left for other stuffs, aero mirrors, etc etc.!!

What a nice platform that is to start with. Here is some more food for thought. The before picture is what I started with. It is what I would call a silver gray.

And this is what I have now. Almost done. This is more of a darker gray than silver.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I think the pictures don't do it justice (not that the pictures are bad, but that it looks so good in real life). Silver is a great color for the 911, especially if you have a tail on it. Doesn't show the dust as badly as the black nor does it get as hot either.

Changing colors without taking the car completely apart are impossible to do right. Sell it and buy a silver one.
