930 rear trailing arm on a 1980 911sc

Hi, i hope someone can help me.

In order to get plates on my 1980sc with a 930 engine i need to change the rear trailing arms to 930 ones..

Does ->1989 rear trailing arms from a 930 fit directly on to a 1980 911sc ?
If no, how much and what kind of modification is needed?

Thanks
Rune

930 trailing arms are a different length than the SC arms.

To mount 930 arms onto your SC, you would need to modify/replace the torsion bar transverse tube pick-up points for the trailing arms. Also, the transmission mounting points are different on the 930 gear box.

The "Turbo Look" torsion bar transverse tube used the 930 trailing arms and had provisions for both the 915 and 930 gear box mounting.

What are you trying to accomplish?
install a 930 motor with 915 in your SC ?
The spring plates are identical between the turbo and the SC

The car has an 930 engine and a G50 transmission mounted in it. The original torsion tube is replaced with a G50 torsion tube. The car is set up with coilover at the rear (if it matters..).

I guess this G50 torsion tube also need to be modified to fit with the longer 930 trailing arms. (as it is set up with the carrera trailing arms now).

what kind of modification are we talking about and does the engine and transmission need to come off?

Sorry for my "amateur" questions

ok-
if you have a G50 torsion tube installed, then the g50 dimension torsion bars along with the 87-89 G50 type spring plates are the parts you need.
Since you already have the the G50 trans and G50 torsion tube, it should "bolt" right up w/o having to go to the expense of welding on inner arm extensions, flares (as the offset of the 930 arms kicks the rims out a couple inches) , and "enjoying" poorer handling from too rapid a camber gain.

if you are after installing 930 brakes on the back, the calipers can be machined so that is a bolt up to your SC arms
