84 carrera ecu question
I have an 88 3.2 motor and found an 84 ecu and harness. I have seen that there is 4 different ecu's for that car. Will this one work for me? It is going in a 76 car. Thanks !!!!!!!

Yes, it will. Just make sure you set the idle for the year you have. ECU's for 84 were at 800, the later years were 880. You might also want to see if the 84 was upgraded to a 28 pin chip vs the 24 pin. If upgraded, it might be a later year chip. I know my 84 has a 28 pin so I have to set my idle at 880.

Heads up, I belive the early or most of the 84 ECU's had the chip hard mounted. This means if you plan to later chip the car for more power you will have to send the whole ECU to 911chips.com to have a socket installed or look for a later ECU.
