Wow!

1986 Porsche 911 Turbo 930 - Black/Black - Show Car - 24,495 Miles

NineOhOne 12-22-2009 07:23 PM

Wow is right. Very nice. Priced right, too.

Not to worry, though. Someone here will poo-poo it.

vash 12-22-2009 07:23 PM

good lord! that car is in a nice neighborhood.

Canada Kev 12-22-2009 08:10 PM

Talk about a time capsule.

sc_rufctr 12-22-2009 08:56 PM

That one is worth preserving... Love the wheels treatment!

It still looks very special. A true super car.

Looking at the pictures it's hard to imagine the company we call Porsche today ever making a car this good.
Maybe the new management should have a look at this car.

James Brown 12-22-2009 10:19 PM

Look at it this way, it only cost $165.00 per year to own it if he gets the $55,000.00 sell price (and I think he will).

Emission 12-22-2009 10:27 PM

"100% Original."

Those tires look new. ;)

Although this car is very clean, what kind of person buys it? Does it become a museum piece? Too many miles to really be a collectible (wait... the 930 isn't a collectible, as Porsche made 17,831 of them), and too few miles to be comfortable turning it into a daily driver (I mean, the thing is frickin' mint).

So, assuming it is worth $55,000 to the right buyer (not me)... who buys this? What do they do with it?

I would put it up for auction at the big auction houses with a huge reserve and wait for the payday.

MBAtarga 12-23-2009 03:52 AM

That car looks fabulous!

I did notice, the ad states that it has a "$4000 Chrome Alloy Wheel upgrade." Someone ruined some fuchs.

My thoughts exactly. Some bloated, cigar-puffing chump would bust a nut bidding that up @ Barrett-Jackson!

There are people out there who only buy/collect the best of the best. Just go to any serious collector show (especially PCA) and look at some of the garage queens. These same folks would look at us like we're mad for suggesting that they drive their car.

What a total piece of crap

hahaha, j/k. That thing looks immaculate. I think the price is in the neighborhood as well.

Matt Monson 12-23-2009 05:47 AM

I'm not going to poo poo what is clearly a nice car, but those photographs have been massaged. The things you can do with photoshop...

walt 12-23-2009 06:22 AM

I agree, looks photoshoped to me also.

jwasbury 12-23-2009 06:23 AM

Very nice looking car, but if I were going to pay that kind of dough for a 930, I'd go for this one, Kiln Red with Olive interior. Yeah baby!

ok this one is more $$$, but that's because of exhange rates:

For Sale: Porsche 911 Turbo (930)

Moses 12-23-2009 06:55 AM

Kiln Red with Olive. That was a special wishes car for someone who was profoundly color blind.

WIL84911 12-23-2009 07:22 AM

one thing for sure... it's for an investor who would prefer looking and talking about his holdings rather than enjoying and riding in it.

Just once I would love to see someone buy a car like this and start driving it.

Did anyone save the pictures?

jurhip 12-23-2009 08:37 AM

Oh come on - if you have the money, why not get a really nice example of a car you have always enjoyed. If I had the money, I would get the "mintiest" example of whatever I wanted to drive. Why not?
