Bought some speed bleeders... Now have questions:

I was fascinated by these so I bought a set for all four wheels.

Is there some special method to installing these? Is it as simple as just unscrewing the old and putting these on? Do I have to drain brake fluid first or anything? Thanks-

No real trick. You will need to top of the brake fluid resivor after installing. And, I would recommend bleeding the barke lines after they are all installed.

If you drained all the fluid out first, it would be cleaner, but I would just set a large catch pan underneath, take the old bleeders off, and quickly try and install the new ones.

And make sure not to get any brake fluid on you paint, it will eat it!

I have them and really like them. Makes bleeding an easy one-man (person) job. I have a really cheap bleeding system too, 1/4" ID clear rubber hose and an old plastic water bottle with a hole in the lid. Works great. All it takes is a 1/4 turn open to get the bleeders to work.

Just make sure the threads are clean when installing the speedbleeder valves. I put these on my 78SC a year ago and I love them. Also because you will be pushing the brake peddle to bleed the lines, be sure NOT to push the peddle any further than you would when applying the brakes. In other words, don't push the brake to the floor when bleeding. The area of the cylinder that is not used during normal braking may cause the plunger in the MC to tear due to debrie in the MC.
