89 Tach in a 78???
Gents
Has anybody used an 89 tach in a 78 SC with MSD ignition? (I'm running a standard 78 3.0 litre) The reason i ask is because I have acquired a full set on instruments from an 89. I'm planning on changing the oil pressure and temp senders on the engine to match the 89 gauge. The rest are easy... So the only thing I'm not certain about is the tach. Would the MSD tach output drive the 89 tach? I searched and there is lots of information about getting things to work in different cars but nothing specific about using an 89 tach in a 78 with an MSD ignition. Also looking at using the "up-shift light" in the 89 tach. Maybe an after-market shift light modified to light up the "up-shift light" in the tach??? Digital Programmable Shift Light - 8963

I found this in another thread... And I have the Haynes manual to confirm the wiring...
But has anybody actually done this? ![]()
