Amount of threads per page...
...should be more than 25 as it is now.
Lot's of good threads disappear just beacuse people don't care for pressing "2" for second page... Example: very good on-topic "CIS vs. EFI" thread dissapeared on page two and will probably stay there..."out of sight, out of mind". Raising number of threads on page will prolong thread-exposure time and raise thread to post ratio, thus lowering signal to noise (OT) ratio ... It's possible to adjust number of posts per thread-page in user settings , but not number of threads per main-page. (At least i didn't find a way). Most other UBB-forums have more threads per page than this one. 50 seems to be usual choice. It does strain SQL-database little more, but i think it's worth it. Opinions? |
yeah you're right. As a thread slips into the 2nd and 3rd pages, it becomes more likely that it disappears into the past.
I looked around and found no setting to change this....maybe the BBS administrator can change a parameter to allow more threads per page. --------------- Emmanuel 83sc http://www.basementouttakes.com/ info@basementouttakes.com |
You can change it under the user options.

Josh,
How do you change it in the user options? As noted above, I also couldn't locate anything under Edit Options that would allow a change beyond 25 threads per page. You can change the "default thread view" (I changed to "last day") but the display still shows only 25 threads per page. I also agree that 50 would be much better than the current 25. Thanks, Tim |
I guess that isn't the way. I tried the change the default view and nothing. Hmmmm, Wayne????

Changed.
