Mixture control plug
Re 88 Carrera. Bentley says the plug that needs to be removed to adjust CO level (bottom left of VAF sensor) is not reusable, so in preparation for getting CO adjusted, I ordered a new one. This new plug is blue plastic. The plug thats in there now is metal. The mechanic who is going to do the adjustment (he usually only works on BMWs) says you really don't need any plug there. Whats the answer? A trivial question, I know ...

John,
The plug is supposed to be installed as a deterrent for "un-authorized tampering". EPA smog stuff ya know.
