Speedometer build date
 
Can anyone tell me where to find the build date on the back of a VDO speedometer from an '80s Carrera? A pic would be most helpful. Thanks in advance...

Look for an ink stamp on the back. It's blue, if I recall correctly.

I don't want to completely remove the speedo and the wires are a bit short, but I think I see a stamp on the back with some digits in the form m.yy, where I assume that m=numeric month and yy= 2 digit year. These digits are surrounded by a rectangular outline. Is that the build date?
