What vintage BBS Wheels are these?
i found these wheels from a guy for 250 bucks, i can tell you these things; they are bbs's, they are 16x10 and 16x9. They are 3 piece. They are 5x130. The center is shaped like plateau. The fronts; centers come about flush to the outside of the wheel. The backs; center sits about an inch in from the outside of the wheel. The wheels are a 20 bolts each (holding the wheel together) and the hex bolts thread in from the back of the wheel.
I bought these with the intentions to flip the centers so i have more of a lift and a more negative offset. I was going to bead blast the centers gold and try and find some black hardware and find the centercaps that look like this ![]() well here are the wheels if anyone could identifiy the origin of these and how much these will be worth when refinished. aslo if other 20 hole centers will work on this wheel, just trying to find out a little more about these i havent saw these ever. here are the ONLY picture of the wheels i have ![]() here is the car they will be going on its a 1991 GTI with a RIEGER TUNING GTO Widebody kit. current wheels are 13x8 AR's and the offset is like 6 inches. Rieger calls for 16x11 bbs rs's w/ a -61 offset and 16x9 with 03 offset, but im 22 in college and work part time so 4k for wheels like that is out of my league. Im new here thanks for anyone's time reading this and helping me your time is greatly appreciated... ![]() thanks, Kevin Last edited by widebodymk2; 01-02-2010 at 03:08 PM.. Reason: forgot the picture of the car |

Those were pretty common in the 80's. 5X130 is the the bolt pattern for most Porsches.
Here are some threads in which these wheels,as well as others, are discussed. Need outer lip for BBS RS 014, 16" http://forums.pelicanparts.com/search.php?searchid=4801496

Sorry about that. It's fixed now.
The search feature is at middle right of the page. You can find more info that way if these don't answer your question.

Top wheels are BBS E30 centers for a VW 4 bolt. Bottom is an early E50 center. Try and get in touch with Rod at Graffhaus as he may be able to give you some insight. Those E50 centers may require specific lug nut that are nla.

They look like the early magnesium BBS wheels from the late 70's/early 80's. Looks like they could be for a 928. I had a set of these on my 928 years ago. I had the centers redone in silver to give it a more modern look.

I don't know if they'll fit, but I love your GTI. Here's mine at a show last summer!

Cool VWs. I had a Callaway GTI - that was a fast car. Believe it or not, I used to wind it out to over 10k rpms with full boost.
