Oil pressure relief spring/piston

I decided to check the oil pressure relief spring/piston and the safety spring piston on my '71T engine while I had the oil drained to replace the oil return tubes. I was surprised to find that the pressure safety piston was the old style with the holes in it, while the pressure relief spring was the new style with the groove (and the longer spring). At first I thought that perhaps the oil bypass modification had been done to the case, but when I peered up through the sump towards the front right side of the case, I saw that the hole to the pressure relief passage has not been plugged.

So, are there any issues with continuing to use the newer style pressure relief piston and spring, or should I try to find the old style piston and use the old style spring?
