Hello all. I am curious if one could tell by the vin (964) if it is a "updated" 1991 or not. In other words, I gather that after a certain engine number, Porsche had updated the C2/C4 typical problems?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Chris |

That sounds like something that might be covered in the Porsche 911 Red Book. Otherwise you might need a tech bulletin about the specific problem.
We need a booklet like the RROC has for their cars - there's one that details all of the changes for a given model, including what VIN they started the change on. I think it's the 1992 and forward models that had the updated flywheels. And to make it even more confusing it wasn't all the 1992 models that were updated since they started updating in the middle of production.
