Dash Query

[FONT="Times New Roman"]Hello there
I am the proud first time Porsche owner of a fantastic Grand Prix White '87 911 Coupe with Burgundy interior.
She needs a little clean up and I wonder if anyone can tell me what the dash facia, cap, glove box and centre console material is so that I get the right cleaning equipment.
Is it leather

Oh god please dont. First of all, some are leather and some (most) are not. Yours looks to be not leather to me. I've always like Wurth cockpit cleaner and have also used Lexol products. Remember, clean is clean, greasy and shiny is not clean.

+1 on Lexol. Your interior looks like vinyl, but is in great shape! I like the Lexol vinyl protectant because it leaves a nice finish, and has some sun protection.

the best cleaner for the interior your car is SWIPE. This is a domestic interior cleaner that can be diluted to a range of concentrations. I was introduced to this my the restoration trimmer that I used and he swears by it. I have now seen the light and do not waste valuable money on branded interior cleaners and vinyl cleaners/protectorants. Ask any trimmer worth his salt and he will tell you that vinyl "protectorants" dry out the vinyl.

I used to use all these things on my 911 before I started using SWIPE. Do a search on it and try it out. Since I have started using it, the interior of my car has the same finish it would have had when it left the factory, and my carpets have never been cleaner. The best part if that a full bottle of concentrate is enough to do about 50 spray bottles, and so works out amazingly cheap compared to branded car products.

+1 on RG5's comments regarding leather protectorants. Long term use of Lexol will destroy your leather. I've used Pristine Clean and Rejuvinator Oil from Leatherique on my 911 and 308 with outstanding long term results.
