Wheel spacers

I am looking for information regarding the spacer dimensions for getting stock Fuchs to fill the fender wells of a '78 SC. I'm most interested in the rear but any info about front and rear would be appreciated. I have 16" Fuchs in 6 and 7 inch widths.

Nineball,

Your car really looks great with the spacers. Thanks for the info. Did you notice any ill effects or have any problems with this modification? Where did you get yours and what brand are they?

Thanks for your help.

Same here, just replaced the stock studs with 66mm studs.

mine are h&r spacers, the kind with the studs already in them. no problems that i have noticed but they have only done about 25 miles since install (right before the snow came). i actually bought 21mm spacers from another pelican who sent me 2.5" spacers instead and then never answered another email or pm from me. i ended up trading them locally with another p-car enthusiast for the 23mm i have now.

+1 on 21mm

that should be *enough* to fill the fenders with stock 7s without rubbing, it is on my car (no picture right this second). H&Rs are a good brand, TUV approved, they do come in 21mm which is just under an inch (25mm) with studs, and are easy to find anywhere, even Ebay.

You can either bolt themt on your car and then bolt the wheel on the spacer, or, as I did, install longer studs on the rear of the car: that works for all my wheels (fuchs and superlites), and it's less stuff and unsprung weight to schelp around. In that case you just bang the studs out of the spacers with a hammer, very easily done...
