Anything odd in this picture??? Rebuild would cost a fortune.

JuiceMan 11-14-2001 04:44 AM

Haha looks like someone put a Slantnose front end on the back of it!

Zendalar 11-14-2001 04:55 AM

Well, sad thing its also a slantnose :( It seems that at www.mobile.de most of the cheap 911's are slantnoses.

WHAT!!!!!

That looks like the rear of a factory DP Porsche!!! These cars are highly sought after. I would love to have one sitting in my garage.

DP made 935 race cars for a while with horse power in the range of 720!

GeorgeK 11-14-2001 05:48 AM

Not only does it look like a DP, but it is the same company that manufactured the bodies for Kremer, including the K3 that won Le Mans in 1979...
And that rear wing is a beautiful piece. It is longer to the rear than the factory item, yet uses the factory rubber. If anyone has one for sale let me know...

Tragedy! That poor car! Tell you what, you guys take a collection to buy it for me and I'll save it... :)

i don't know what zendelar is thinking? it looks pretty cool to me.

Saffs 11-14-2001 07:06 AM

I don't know, but I think a lot of cars on (here's the in English search)http://www.mobile.de/cgi-bin/search.pl?bereich=pkw&sprache=2 are quite good and well looked after. It seems that in Germany people really look after they're cars, thus, one sees some quite nice - and well priced - stuff, plus the German TUV inspection has very high standards, so cars are truly roadworthy. Always the odd nasty be-spoilered thing (but the above is DP Porsche replica), but check it out. Obviously very hard to export to the US but handy if you're in Europe - I know people in the UK that source stuff like 911s and BMW M3s (E30s) in Germany all the time: that's where you go for the nice ones.

poor thing, if it's a 935 great, awesome car, problem is the first car puts on all that ground effect BS and ridiculous rear wing which probably isn't functional, what's underneath?, a smokey, head stud pulling, chain tensioner failing, leaky exhaust roller, if you're going to look fast, boy racer look, back it up with a 300,400,500hp engine, otherwise you look like the slammed honda civics who pretend to be sports cars

Saffs 11-14-2001 07:15 AM

Here it is for real: here
It was a 2.2S

RarlyL8 11-14-2001 03:34 PM

2.2L? Ouch!
The bodywork is Kremer. Those cars were brutal street machines. I think B.A. has a word or two about them in his books.

I wouldnt mind having that car in my garage but driving it around town? that's a different story.

It looks too extreme and too "concept" to actually drive around or use as a daily driver.

In fact, it looks a little bit like that Lamborghini Jalpa car
