Car and Driver comparison

I've owned my 911 for 20 years, loved the 356 I had for a while, and have an unparalleled blast every time I get out in my 2000 Boxster S with factory sport exhaust, sport cats and factory 997 sport shifter. Nothing will change that. I also think BMW's tend to be too hard to the touch and drive for their own good - simply for the sake of "European" drive marketing claims. They also simply don't deliver the seamless performance driving that I love about Porsches.

That all said, I really hate it when I read car magazine comparisons where the new M3 kills both the Carrera 4S and the Cayman S.

Then again, my buddy with a relatively new 7 Series with 99,999 miles, that he has to get rid of it because it is a disaster once off of warranty, even though it's in perfect condition and never so much as hiccuped.

I know how you feel. I remember when they did a comparison of a 70s Karmann-Ghia and a Speedster. While the K-G was a tad faster than the 12+ year old stock Speedster, my Speedster would have kicked it's behind.
I have a year-old 535 and it's a great car except for the the control systems. You have to be careful buying a BMW. They make some fun sport cars and sport sedans, but their luxury sedans suck. I'll never own another one.
