Technical Specification Booklet 84-89

I am told by the local Porsche dealer that these booklets are NLA. But it is a must for DYI. Does anyone know where I can get a copy?http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pray.gif

I see them all the time at Swap Meets. Have you tried Pelican Parts (our host) or Stoddard Imported Cars in Ohio.

If this is what I think it is, you can get them through most sources including your dealer who had them on the counter last time I was there. I looked through it and came away with the feeling that it really is just a collection of technical revisions that the factory felt was needed on you car when serviced at the dealership. Mostly nitpicky things. Not alway practical for the DIY.

First, call and see if Pelican has any.

I remember seeing that many of these were no longer available, which was why I was suprised to see them listed in a catalog that came in the mail a few days ago. Without mentioning any names, in respect of our host, the catalog has a 356 headlight on the cover, and the company name sounds sort of like "reeks".;)

Ha, Tweeks is so out of date, I'd be amazed if they had them.

However, I picked up a box of ten NEW ones about 3-4 months ago, and there might be some left.

Coincidentally, I am going to be recreating the spec book information (only on the engine) in my new 911 Engine Rebuilding Book...

Give Tom a call 1-888-280-7799x21 - he would know where they are...

89911,
I think you are thinking of some other book. The Tech Books are those little (3x4") books with every number you need; angles for the valves, torque for fasteners, rotor thickness specs, etc.

Chris,
You are right. It is the small booklet, with all the torque specs, etc. They are impossible to find. I tried to convince the local porsche service guy to make a photocopy, but no deal.
Does anybody know of a source?

Look Above!

Pelican has them, look at other posts! If by chance they don't, the other "P. parts" company had 'em last time I was there. These don't sound too "impossible to find" to me.

Hello

Porsche put the books out from production and quit stocking them as well ( say they cleared the shelfs ) They are replaced by a CD-Rom and integratet into the new tester generation.

Roland,

Are these new CD-ROMs for sale to the public?

Jandrews 11-17-2001 08:16 AM

What about the early cars? '70 - '73 would be of interest to me?

Roland, I haven't heard anything about a CD-ROM, do you have a part number, or more information?

Targa 88--When I got my 86 Targa, I accidently ordered TWO Tech Spec Booklets and still have one of them sealed in the original bag it came in. HOWEVER--It says it's for 84, 85, 86, 87 models of the 911 Carrera, 911 Turbo. I'm guessing by your handle that your 911 is an '88 model. Write back to my e-mail address if you want to discuss.
