I'm thinking of trying the 2" where my bow tie went. I think it will be a bit less visible, and more useful (more directional) than the square models that are being sold for bow tie replacement.

I built my own trapezoidal vent-under-the-ashtray & added similar vents at the underside of the ends dash, replumbed with heater hose from the wrecking yard, by using inexpensive standard vent & parts from a local RV shop... but based on my experiences this would work well and is less obtrusive. The pipe stub from the plenum sticks out through a slightly larger hole in the vertical surface so you can push whatever you get onto it enough to allow for narrow hose clamp so just make sure it is the right size to fit over that stub & inside the hole.
