Failing cylinder head temp sensor vs faulty throttle switch

Hello. I was wondering what the difference in symptoms for the 2 are. Are they the same or does one have a completely different set of warning signs than the other. Reason for asking is this; My car had a hesitation around 3k rpm. It is pretty consistent. From what I've read it seems like it could be either. I have replaced my fuel pump, fuel pump relay and fuel filter and ran some techron through the tank with no avail. I have also checked for vacuum leaks so my search has led me to believe it might be either the cyllinder head temp. sensor or the throttle switch. Any help is, as always very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Both can be checked with a digital multimeter as described in the Bentley workshop manual. You should buy the manual, and do the tests. You can use ambient temperature as a reference if you do this before starting the motor up. It could also be an old O2 sensor, which you can test with an air fuel meter. As O2 sensors age, they send weaker signals, which causes the motor to run rich.

Thanks rusnak. I do need to pick up the manual. I am trying to diagnose the problem and didn't know if the symptoms I am experiencing is typical of both parts or one in particular.
