Thank you to all for your participation in the Pelican Toy Drive this season!!!

I would just like to extend a thank you to all of you who participated in the Pelican Toy Drive this season. The program was a success, and we will be continuing it throughout the year with the goal of donating Porsche toy cars and trucks to children's cancer wards in hospitals around the country.

For those who haven't seen it, the program works when one of our customers uses a coupon code at checkout. Then a toy car or truck is donated in their name to a toy collection charity (it's going to vary which charity).

This evening, my family went down to the local fire station to hand over the trucks to the firemen there who are performing collection duties for Los Angeles County. Here are some photos:

Sorry I wasn't able to participate this year as I was not in need of an order from Pelican and didn't have any "play" money since being laid off in February..

2010 is going to be better. Our job situation has improved 10fold. WOOHOO!!!

A 1969 Aurora RaceTrack with cars from then.

The track and a few of the cars are original from when I was a boy of 8-10 .
I have since added cars old from ebay and elswhere and new reproductions , all of period cars.

I must not let my enthusiasm for the toy part "clutter" the report of a good cause, I hope as many kids can have such fun growing up.
